Somato Respiratory Integration (SRI). SRI consists of a series of gross and
subtle body movements, self-directed breathing and verbal statements that assist
the higher brain centers to become more aware and responsive to the body. Pain,
stress, and trauma can cause people to disconnect from parts of their body,
creating the environment for loss of wellness, sickness, or disease. SRI
consistently reverses the process of defense physiology, spinal distortions, and
disconnection. By encouraging the brain to focus its attention on a region and/or
sensation that was formerly repressed, discarded, denied or desensitized, SRI
provides a method to redirect the body’s attention, release tension, and promote
greater ease.

After observing thousands of people in both private practice and public seminars,
Dr. Donald Epstein, the developer of Network Spinal Analysis, discovered 12 basic
healing rhythms, or stages, consistent with each individual’s path to healing. Dr.
Epstein described these healing rhythms and set forth this series of exercises in
his book, The 12 Stages of Healing, which is the foundation of this modality.

These simple to learn and easy to apply exercises enable those who practice SRI to
become more flexible and adaptable. They discover how their inner perception and
experience of the world determines who they are, their overall wellness, and their
connection to themselves; they experience their body more fully and instantly shift
their state of consciousness to one that supports trust for the healing process.
An invaluable tool used during NSA sessions to further promote the evolution of
advance spine and nervous system strategies, SRI also serves as a home support
program of self-care to relieve acute stress and as part of one’s regular wellness
routine.
